Giovanni Manzone 2015 Barolo Gramolere
The Manzone 2015 Barolo Gramolere is an expression of Nebbiolo with a more informal drinking style that prizes immediate fruit and intensity. Aged in both 500-liter oak and large casks for 30 months, then an additional 10 months in bottle before release. The Gramolere Vineyard combines elegance with power in a way few other Barolo wines can, thereby achieving the rare distinction among Barolo of being enjoyable to drink in its youth as well as in maturity. Multi-layered in bouquet and flavor of sweet red cherry, mint, pine, anise, and orange peel with integrated tannins, lifted acidity, and a delicate, silky finish. A gorgeous wine that is certainly approachable now but will continue to develop beautifully for several years.
