Westerly 2014 Cote Blonde Santa Ynez Valley The 2014 Côte Blonde is a compelling, very expressive wine that is just beginning to reveal what it will ultimately deliver. The Viognier adds a subtle white flower component to the exotic aromatics, while the palate is soft, juicy, and pure Syrah in nature. Dark fruits shine through, with a touch of liquorice and spice rounding out the bright and balanced mouthfeel. Forward and precocious now, the wine will continue to unfold and develop over the next 10 years.
Wine Enthusiast - 90 Points "Blackberry-sorbet, teriyaki, candied-purple-flower and dark-chocolate-syrup aromas show on the nose of this bottling, which is starting to show a touch of age already. Framed by chalky tannins, the palate combines tangy black-plum fruit with roasted coffee, caramel and peppery spice."

Story Owner & visionary, Roger Bower, is on the cutting edge of an
emerging movement in Santa Barbara County. He works closely with all
aspects of farming and winemaking, ranch management, as well as sales
and marketing. Their vineyards in Happy Canyon are in the easternmost growing region of Santa
Barbara County. First planted in 1996, the AVA is widely recognized for
its unique micro-climate, serpentine-laced soils, and its ability to
produce top quality Bordeaux varietals. Designated as an official
American Viticultural Area (AVA) by the Trade and Tax Bureau in November
of 2009, Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara is home to only eight vineyards
and three brick-and-mortar wineries.
