Alma Rosa 2019 La Encantada Vineyard Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills
Alma Rosa 2019 La Encantada Vineyard Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills

Alma Rosa 2019 La Encantada Vineyard Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills

The La Encantada vineyard, originally planted by Richard Sanford in 2000, produces wines that exemplify the greatest attributes of the Sta. Rita Hillsí southwest corridor year after year. Planted on soils rich in diatomaceous earth, the 2019 La Encantada Pinot Noir is a lively and inviting ruby red color in the glass. On the nose, this wine shows classic Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir aromas of bright red berries, red currant, and pronounced and intriguing notes of baking spices. On the palate the wine is elegant, with plenty of fresh acidity and chewy tannins. Seductive and lush, this wine is ready to drink now and will continue to develop in complexity over the next 3-5 years.

"Lots of caramelized cherry and assorted red and blue fruits, vanilla oak, candied violets, and orange blossom notes emerge from the 2019 Pinot Noir La Encantada Vineyard, a rich, exotic, impressively textured Pinot Noir with a great mid-palate. Itís young and unevolved at present, with the oak present yet integrated, and will bene t from another year or two of bottle age. Itís an impressive Pinot Noir."

"The 2019 Pinot Noir La Encantada is laced with crushed raspberry, kirsch, blood orange, mint and spice, all framed by silky tannins that allow the creaminess of the fruit to emerge. The Encantada is one the more luscious, supple wines in this lineup. It will drink well with minimal cellaring."

"Re ned and well-structured, with creamy richness to the concentrated, plush-tasting avors of plum tart and cherry pastry. The suave and well-spiced nish glides across the palate. Drink now through 2025. 250 cases made."
