Levensohn 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena Napa Valley
In 2000, the Levensohns acquired and replanted their 3.5-acre St. Helena vineyard, located on a 5-acre parcel. Their goal: to unlock the soil’s potential to create an elegant and extraordinary wine. The grapes used to craft Levensohn Cabernet Sauvignon are carefully selected from the vineyard’s total annual harvest, which averages only ten tons.

Since the first vintage in 2004, the production of Levensohn Cabernet Sauvignon has deliberately been limited. The 2004 – 2010 vintages did not exceed 25 cases, representing less than 5% of the total grape yield from the vineyard. As the vineyard has matured and shown its potential, total production of the wine has increased to 200 cases.

Today, Levensohn Cabernet Sauvignon is made by the highly-respected Winemaker Benoit Touquette, Winemaker and Partner of Napa Valley’s Realm Cellars.

Wine Advocate - 95 Points
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from their vineyard in St. Helena is a slightly richer, broader and more profoundly deep style of Cabernet Sauvignon than the 2012 with a nearly opaque ruby/purple color, with sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit in the intense and persistent aromatics. Full-bodied with the same alcohol as the 2012 (14.8%), the wine cuts a broad swath across the palate without any sense of heaviness. Pure and ripe but still youthful and relatively unevolved, this should be cellared for another 3-5 years and drink over the following two decades."

James Suckling - 95 Points
"So much blackberry and black licorice aromas follow through to a full body, chewy tannins and a tight and polished finish. Muscular and fit red. Needs two or three years of bottle age to soften."
